📖 About This Game
Meadowvale is a shared-board tile-laying and wildlife-placement game inspired by the British countryside.
Players expand a common landscape by placing terrain tiles — grassland, woodland, river, hedgerow, farmland and village — and add wildlife that scores from real ecological behaviour. Foxes hunt near rabbits, owls watch from woodland, hedgehogs shelter by farms and villages, and rabbits form groups along the hedgerows.
Everyone contributes to the same valley. A single river winds through the board, hedgerows grow through player choices, and habitats connect into a living patchwork of fields and woods. Every placement changes opportunities for others, creating gentle tension and shared ecological storytelling. Objective cards reward thriving ecological relationships — some linked to terrain, others to wildlife — guiding the Vale’s growth without forcing a single path. Players score from animal behaviour, connected habitats and completed objectives, creating a landscape that feels less like a puzzle and more like a real place. Wildflower tokens can be spent to move an animal, adjusting, protecting or disturbing the balance of the ecosystem. Movement is rare but powerful, allowing subtle blocking or refinement of strategy, or to aid the achievement of objectives.
Meadowvale explores ecological logic and shared landscape building: a quieter, more reflective kind of strategy, where beauty and balance emerge together. Can you become a Keeper of the Vale?
