The Barbarian

An introductory fantasy board game published in White Dwarf issue #15 (reprinted in The Best of White Dwarf Articles (Volume I)). One player controls a single barbarian ("Vaarn") searching the "outlands" for the shield and sword of the "Old Fathers" while the other player controls various creatures in attempt to thwart Vaarn. Vaarn wins as soon as he exits either side of the map with the sword and shield. Any other results is a victory for the other player.
