📖 About This Game
S&S has been revised. FCI accepted my suggestions, and the board is bigger - 2-piece - on the pdf, and Mortain, Domfront, and Prepail are now bocage points as well. They re-edited their rules. And FCI added a Luftwaffe piece!
This is a general logistics oriented game about getting supplies to units to fight for or against an Allied breakout.
It starts after D-Day - Cherbourg is US occupied in the setup, shown - and the game is about getting supplies to units for their replenishment after attacking or taking defensive losses.
Supplies are moved by sea and road for the Allies and by road and train for the Germans. (Trains move them faster but are more vulnerable to air attack.)
Both USAAF and RAF tactical units and also strategic airpower units are in the game, to devastate German ground units and interdict their and their supplies' movement.
Combat units are generic. There are 4 US infantry and 3 US armor pieces which are to be assembled double-sided - full strength and "spent."
3 British infantry and 2 British armor and 5 German infantry and 3 German panzer/armor.
There are 24 Allied and 18 German supply markers.
To win, the Allied player must capture Caen, Avranches on the western edge and 4 other starred towns on the map which are considered evidence of a breakout. Any fewer is a German win.
The game is free to Fight Club International members - and membership is free - to print off and play our own personal copies, but it is not public domain, and the copyright statement says it is not to be "amended" - revised?
I did this BGG entry for the game as a service to Fight Club and the hobby. I did not design it.
