📖 About This Game

Ringo is a two-player abstract strategy game said to be from Germany. It was likely invented sometime in the late 1800's or early 1900's. Pieces are captured similarly as in checkers, but no multiple jumps are allowed. Thought to be descended from the Tafl group (Fox & Geese, Tablut, Hnefatafl). The game simulates a castle siege. Attackers are attempting to enter a castle (the center circle on the board) while defenders are trying to protect it and reduce the number of attackers. Since the attackers out number the defenders, the defenders have an advantage in movement.
