📖 About This Game

Board game on the battle of Poltava using the Husaria system. The battle took place on July 8, 1709 near Poltava in modern-day Ukraine between the Swedish army under the command of King Charles XII and the Russians led by Tsar Peter the Great. The Swedes attacked the Russian positions in four columns. Despite initial successes, they were later held back and their right-hand column was decimated. Soon afterwards, the Russian forces seized the initiative and went on the attack. The battle ended with the defeat of the Swedes, most of whom were either killed or taken prisoner.
