📖 About This Game

Mortal Combat was a Childrens game of dexterity whereby each side was trying to eliminate each other's soldiers. The game came in two larger boxed sets and two mini sets. The contents of each "set" were: Larger boxes: -8 figures -1 crossbow firing device. -1 cannon firing device -1 catapult firing device -projectiles -Gates and wall pieces -a spinner -one page of rules Even the box was needed because it was used to measure movement of troops and distances between the combatants. Each player sets up their forces two box lengths apart. Both sides setup their castle and position their four soldiers and firing device. A turn begins with both players spinning the spinner, with the high side shooting first that turn. A soldier needs to be within 3 centimeters to be able to fire a device. Both sides take turns shooting at their opponent. Each soldier that is struck, even by ricochet, is out. Players can also forfeit shooting and instead advance one of their soldiers, and the firing device next to them, one box length (to get the weapons closer). A cannon or crossbow can only be fired every three shots. The first player to knock out all their opponent's soldiers wins. There are additional rules to continue the game as a campaign, which ends when the opposing player has no room left to deploy. This game would later inspire the games Emperor 1 and 2.
