明暗 (Meian)

In 明暗, roughly translated as Light and Dark, there are no suits and cards show their rank on the front and back. Players will make a bid from the cards in their hand at the start of the round, and if they win exactly that many tricks, they earn a corresponding amount of points. Depending upon which side of the card they bid with determines the penalty if they miss their bid. The person with the most points after a series of rounds wins.
