📖 About This Game
Who shall rule the Mediterranean Sea? A nascent land-based empire with no naval traditions or the world’s premium trading and maritime power? Stand with Rome and lead mighty legions to expand its power beyond the confines of the Italian peninsula, or take Carthage’s side and lead its battle-hardened fleets and generals to victory and glory!
Hamilcar is an asymmetrical card-driven wargame for 2 players with updated rules and cards. Use Strategy Cards to maneuver armies, fleets, and generals, raise new troops and build warships, gain political control of provinces and regions across the Mediterranean, and play powerful historical events. Achieve victory by capturing your enemy's capital, holding more provinces at the last round or by removing all your opponent's PC markers from the map. Carthage can also win if Roma controls less than 3 provinces at the end of any turn.
Hamilcar Silver Edition is the first version of the game to be released separately from Hannibal. Compared to the previous Golden Geek edition, this Silver Edition:
Has an updated rulebook and player aid to address all known outstanding questions and errata.
Changes some Land Battle rules
Changes the Naval Interception rules
Adds the Price of Failure expansion General and Strategy Cards as an optional rule.
Replaces the plastic miniatures with cardboard standees and corresponding counters for the Generals
Adds a new Fleet counter/standee for each side to help track Naval Movement and Interception.
