📖 About This Game

The "Classic of Mountains and Seas", formerly romanized as the Shan-hai Ching, is a Chinese classic text and a compilation of mythic geography and myth. In Chronicle of the Beasts, players try to deploy the mythical creatures in Shan-hai Ching to defeat the legendary beast Dijiang (帝江). Chronicle of the Beasts is a microgame with only 12 cards for 2 players. In the beginning of the game, lay down all the cards on the table, and each players chooses one of the Dijiang card (value 13 or 14) as their controlled beast. Players alternates turns to perform one of the three actions: Take one Beast card on the table into their hand as a "Tool" Play one Tool from their hand to attack one Beast on the table Deploy one Beast on the table to attack one of the Dijiang You may win the game if: you kill any one of the Beast by playing/deploying a card to bring the total attack value equal to the value of the Beast. After all cards are played/deployed, your controlled Dijiang has higher total of attack than your opponent's. —user summary
