Basilica: Festum Fatuorum

The Feast of Fools – Festum Fatuorum – a medieval festival for the young ones, begins! Today they will chose from among their own number a mock pope, archbishop, bishop, or abbot and parody high ceremonies in profane and extravagance celebrations. Dare you join them? Festum Fatuorum, a mini expansion for Basilica, consists of new promotion tokens (one for each player) and new cathedral tiles. The new promotion tokens introduce a new rank for builders: Jester. Vault tile, where a builder promoted to Jester is present becomes a wild tile with one color more. Thus, the Jester can change a single-color tile into a wild one, and wild tile into three-color one. The new cathedral tiles contain a new order, Altar, which allows a player to place two Altar tokens on two separate tiles of the cathedral. Altars increase the value of Stained Glass tokens and protect vault tiles from the effects of two orders: Disaster and Confuse. (A set of altar tokens is included in the expansion.) Festum Fatuorum debuted in issue 22 of the Polish boardgame magazine Åšwiat Gier Planszowych.
