📖 About This Game
Re-Implements Luftschiff published by Sierra Madre Games. For the 12th Anniversary of the Game, Sierra Madre Games published an updated version of the game now called Airships at War 2nd Edition (12th Anniversary 2005 Edition). For owners of the original Luftschiff game an expansion module was made available called ZRCV.
From its description, the combined 2nd edition adds a final challenge: to command the awesome U.S. flying aircraft carriers of the inter-war years (the Acron, Macon, and never-built ZRCV). Imperial Japanese Navy units are included, and a dozen scenarios cover hypothetical War Plan Orange actions and re-implements Luftschiff. As stated this was made available separately for owners of Luftschiff.
In support of the Luftschiff 1st edition, Sierra Madre Games published the Expansion Riesenflugzeugabteilungen. Which include the large bombers of the war. The 1st edition is an expansion for Luftschiff. It was updated at the same time the 2nd Edition (12th Anniversary 2005 edition) of Airships at War was released and they updated the cover thus reflecting 12th Anniversary 2005 Edition. Additional planes were added to the expansion set 2nd edition.
A 3rd edition of the game was made available from RJWargames.com which include a reformatting of the rules and contains the same plane data as Airships at War 2nd edition. The Riesenflugzeugabteilungen is also available from the company.
