About
890 A.D. is a tile-placement game set among the sun-drenched lavender fields of Provence. As protectors of these lands, you'll earn points by strengthening the defenses of your dominion against Moorish raids! You have only 8 rounds to help your territory flourish—construct buildings and cultivate crops, call back allies… or risk falling into ruin!
As nobles, you each possess a castle and a dominion—a personal territory where you can build fortifications, religious edifices, inns, and a variety of crops. Your prosperity also depends on the ability to summon specialists, fellow nobles, or influential figures who can grant you unique powers and advantages.
Plan your actions with care as you create rows of lavender, poppies, olive trees, and wheat. Seize the chance to recruit new characters under the banners matching the colors of your crops—but remember, once your dominion’s grid is full, it can no longer be modified.
Player interaction happens entirely on the board: from tactically choosing the right tiles to leveraging the abilities of certain characters who can help you play with skill and cunning—such as stealing coins from rivals or trading cards that fit your strategy. All of this is in service of one goal: to withstand the ever-looming threat of the Saracens. Should misfortune strike one of you, others may seize the opportunity to gain the upper hand!
