📖 About This Game

スキットドゥ (Skit Do) is a poker-style 2 player game from Japan. The players select pairs of cards to win, but there are special effects on the cards and set winning conditions too. Of the five tricks played, highest value will win three, lowest will win won, and highest total wins the fifth. These are turned up randomly at the start of each of the five tricks. The game has a deck of 25 cards numbered 1 to 5 in five colours. This shuffled and players are dealt a hand of 10 cards, plus a zero card. The remaining cards are used as victory points for each trick. Each player gets an aide showing the different number combos that rank in the game. A combo of 1 and 5 in the same colour is the highest rank, then a run in the same colour, then any pair, then any two in the same colour, then any run, then any two. At the start of a round, the winning condition and the scoring card are revealed. Players choose two cards to play face-down as their trick. The starting layer can choose to Open or pass. Opening means they force the opponent to reveal a number card, but the effect on that card takes place. If they passed, the opponent can Open or pass. After this, the cards are revealed and the trick resolved. The winner takes the scoring cards as victory points and the game moves on to the next trick. After five tricks, the player with the most victory points is the winner. user summary
