ÐеÑказоÑÐ½Ð°Ñ Ð·Ð°Ð²Ð°ÑÑÑка ("The Not Fabulous Mess") is a fast-paced card game that challenges players to strategically place their characters on advantageous cards to score as many points as possible. Players must plan their moves carefully, using the unique abilities of their magical characters to outmaneuver opponents and block them from achieving their goals. With countless strategic possibilities, this small-scale game offers high replay value.
At the start of the game, a kingdom of the required size (based on player count) is randomly laid out using four types of terrain cards. Each player receives an identical set of 10 character cards in their chosen color. They shuffle them and place 3 random cards face down next to them without looking. The remaining 7 cards are kept in hand, hidden from opponents.
Players take turns clockwise, starting with the first player. Each turn, a player must place one character card from their hand onto any terrain card, following placement rules and using the card’s properties (if any). After playing, they pass the turn. There are two character types:
Regular characters earn victory points at the end if specific conditions are met (e.g., a Knight placed with a Princess).
Magical characters do not score points but grant special actions to alter gameplay (e.g., a Witch in a Forest lets you swap two characters on different terrains).
The game ends once all players have placed six characters. Players tally victory points from their regular characters, and the ruler with the highest score proves their worth—seizing the contested lands as their rightful prize.
