Westerplatte 1939

The defense of Westerplatte went down in history thanks to the heroism of 216 Polish soldiers attacked by over 2,500 Germans. The place is famous for the battle in 1939 and a long Polish defence (7 days) against German forces, with Polish defenders being outnumbered (216 Polish soldiers vs approx. 2500 Germans) and outgunned.
