The Kingswood

The Kingswood is a tile placement and role choosing game. You play as a great merchant house, trying to build roads - or pave over existing ones - to gain gold from the treasure at the heart of the Kingswood. You will also attempt to call on a number of professions to help you with your task. Gain the best routes, while also avoid competing too heavily for the same professions and paths, and you'll be able to gain enough gold to buy the deed of the Kingswood and win. The crux of the game is connecting to the most lucrative treasure gates by laying down road tiles - even on other road tiles already on the board. One well placed road tile can switch the flow of gold from your opponents to you. Subverting the paths of your rivals is vital - as is reducing the ability for your opponents to do the same. Each round, you choose 1 of 5 Roles to help you dominate The Kingswood: Merchant, Real Estate Agent, Foreman, Soldier and Spy. Each Role has specific abilities to help you get ahead, as well as determining the order players play in for the round. You must be careful with your choice. If you choose the same Role as another, your bickering will prevent both of you from using the Role to its full potential. Once a player has 50 or more gold at the end of the round, the game is over. If you have the most gold, you buy the deed to The Kingswood and win.
