📖 About This Game
Soldier’s Chess is a military strategy game.
Soldier's Chess places you in charge of an infantry platoon, just as it makes contact with the enemy. Every decision you make will be crucial to the outcome of the battle.
In solitaire mode, you can achieve victory according to your mission objectives (the parameters of the scenario).
In duel mode, the first player to reach 20 victory points wins (1 point per enemy wounded and more points per enemy KIA depending on the type of unit).
With seven different unit types (each with unique traits and abilities) and no dice, you can play each game according to your strategy - but be careful, you must contend with the will of your enemy. The 7 unit types, each with distinct movements, attack ranges, and special abilities, include: Private, Machine Gun, Sergeant, Medic, Mortar, Sergeant First Class, and Lieutenant. Soldier's Chess is played on a 16x16 square board, four times the size of the board in traditional chess. The game is also played with 6 terrain tiles, which hinder or benefit nearby units.
Some key game mechanics of Soldier's Chess include: Players may order three units to act per turn. Movement and offense are separate actions, and units can also perform special actions. Pieces interact: Sergeants can lead formations, Medics can heal wounded units, Lieutenants can inspire other units, and Sergeants First Class can lead grand formations.
