📖 About This Game
SkyLinks is a vertical stacking game using magnetic cubes with letters, numbers and symbols.
Strategically build a tower while challenging yourself to think vertically, match cleverly, and ascend to new heights of fun. Score as you attach cubes and expand the tower.
Components:
50 magnetic cubes with letters, bigrams, numbers and symbols
bag
3x3-inch steel base.
Setup:
Place all cubes in a bag. Take a random cube and place on the base. Each player grabs two cubes. Grab a pen and paper for scoring.
Note that the first cube can be rotated, examined and reoriented by the first player to attach their cube.
Game Play:
All players play simultaneously attaching cubes to create a tower, but must call out their connections before attaching cube(s).
Each player adds one or more cubes from their hand to the tower.
Connections are made as follows:
a word with at least three adjacent letters
a math equation with three numbers
a pair of identical symbols.
Forming a word:
Add one or two cubes such that their adjacent faces form a word of at least three letters. At least half of the letters must be in the same direction. Letters can traverse an adjacent corner.
Forming a math equation:
Attach two numbers to an existing number such that a simple arithmetic equation is formed, for example 2+5=7.
Pairing symbols:
Attach a symbol (like a star) to a matching symbol, face to face.
Cubes can be placed vertically and horizontally.
Scoring:
2 points per equation
1 point per symbol match
1 point per letter in complete word
It is possible to score multiple form connections at the same time.
Penalty:
If a player causes one or more cubes to collapse, lose one point per cube. Return the cubes to the bag.
Winning the Game:
The game ends when all cubes have been placed.
The player with the most points is the winner.
