📖 About This Game
Otterwood is a turn-based game in the world of movie production. Your goal is to earn the maximum of points by producing different movies. No knowledge required to play. The game is set in an animalistic world with wordplay on famous movies and movie stars.
Each turn you have several actions at your disposal:
Hire artists that you need to produce movies
Extend the contract of hired artists to work with them longer
Buy artist contracts you need or sell the ones you don't need
Play Event cards to shake your or your opponent strategy
Push a trend where some movie genres are more popular and easier to produce
Update the pool of movies available to the production
At the end of your turn, you can produce a movie. You'll need a screenwriter, a director and an actor/actress. The better the artists you have, the higher amount of points you'll earn.
When a player produce his/her 6th movie, we finish the current turn and then the game ends.
Everyone count his/her points. The movies themselves grant points. Then you have bonus points if you produced more movies of the same genre or if you followed specific strategies like producing low-budget movies.
The winner is the player that have the most points.
There is an alternate win condition in the game. At the start of the game, each player receive a movie card which is really hard to make. You can produce it at the end of your turn like any other movie. However, this one ends the game with your victory. An insurance policy that you never are out of the game.
