Norse Horizons

Norse Horizons invites 2-5 players, ages 10+, to embark on a Viking saga in a strategic area control board game from Waxy Stone Games. As ambitious Jarls, you are sent west to England to seek new lands and glory for your clan. Over 40-100 minutes, explore uncharted territories, gather valuable loot, conquer strategic regions, and engage in clashes with rival Jarls to prove yourself the greatest. Norse Horizons offers a rich Viking theme and strategic depth, while remaining accessible and engaging for both newcomers and seasoned strategy gamers. The game unfolds across three cycles, each with distinct phases: Invasion, Clash, Upkeep, and Awards. During the crucial Invasion phase, hire Vikings to explore the map, revealing new regions and resources like wheat, trade goods, treasure chests, and wine. Claim regions and extract loot, but be aware that looting generates unrest, making those areas vulnerable. When you clash with other players over region control, engage in tense battles where you secretly commit coins and clash cards. Outwit your opponents through clever bluffing and tactical card play to earn trophies and conquer territories. The Upkeep phase provides a breather, resetting Vikings and unrest, and granting income for future expeditions. Norse Horizons encourages high player interaction and lively table talk, especially during the bluff-filled clashes, while consistently offering engaging strategic choices. Randomized awards granted at the end of each cycle and unique final scoring cards ensure high replayability, making each game a fresh and exciting Viking adventure.
