📖 About This Game
Mythikon is a tactical fantasy board game for 2–4 players, where players lead powerful Avatars, summon creatures, and cast spells to outmaneuver their enemies across two layered realms — the Overworld and the Underworld. Inspired by digital strategy classics, Mythikon emphasizes positional play, mana efficiency, and high-impact spell timing on a modular battlefield composed of a plethora of varied terrain tiles.
Each player builds a deck from six distinct Schools of Magic and three asymmetric factions. Spells are drafted from a shared faction pool, which guarantees that no two players ever wield the same hand of magic — each game is unique from the very first round. Strategic area control is essential: capturing Mana Points fuels your casting power, while positioning and terrain influence movement, line of sight, and combat.
A central innovation of the game is its custom unit stand system, which allows each creature to track its own health, host a mounted rider, and receive or lose persistent effects using attachable clips. All status changes and battlefield conditions are displayed directly on the board without clutter, making complex mechanics easy to manage at a glance.
The "Mana & Mayhem" base box offers the full strategic experience, including knockout play modes and a set of Introductory Scenarios that ease players into the system using preset decks and maps. The optional "Gold & Guilds" add-on introduces RPG-inspired features such as item upgrades, shop-based trading, mercenary recruitment and evolving roles, all without altering the core combat engine.
