Monstrous Mutations

Long ago, the King wanted to spice up the spectacle of the Dragon Fighting Pits, to which end his trusted Wizard, a capricious fellow, began to cast enchantments on the dragons during tournaments causing wild and exciting transformations to the participants – Monstrous Mutations! In Monstrous Mutations you take on the role of a dragon master. Your job is to field the mutations created by the Wizard so they affect your dragons in the optimum way, and then to direct your dragons in battle. You start the game with a team of three battle dragons, each of which has a similar, but slightly different set of battle statistics. Your goal is to defeat all three of your opponent’s dragons. The game takes place over a maximum of nine rounds where each round comprises a Mutations phase followed by a Combat phase. Monstrous Mutations has been designed as a two player game, but it is easy to make it playable by more. Three players could take two dragons each and draw two mutations per round, or you could combine multiple sets of Monstrous Mutations for even more players, who could either play in teams or in a frantic, all out Battle Royal to the last dragon standing. —description from the designer
