📖 About This Game
Mayan Civilization is a strategy game where players take on the role of tribal leaders, guiding their villagers in farming, logging, stone quarrying, adventuring, trading, tool development, village building, temple construction, worship, and calendar writing.
Each villager has unique abilities and value. At the start of every round, players gain 1 new villager, but with limited corn and housing, they must constantly adjust and replace villagers to maximize efficiency each turn.
The game features over 40 different calendars, each providing unique scoring conditions as well as passive and active abilities. Since the calendar rules vary from game to game, players must choose the most suitable calendars based on the starting setup to lead their villagers to greatness.
Round Structure
Each round consists of three phases:1. Recruit Villagers
Starting with the first player, each player selects 1 new villager in turn.
2. Main Actions
On their turn, a player plays an action card and resolves its effect, simultaneously triggering relevant inventions, calendars, and villager abilities.
Before or after their main action, players may perform any number of additional actions, including:
-Writing a calendar
-Activating a calendar
-Playing a strategy card
-Spending resources to accelerate the sundial
3. Round Reset
After all players complete 2 main actions, the round reset begins:
3-1.Remove the last building and villager card and refill to 3 cards.
3-2.Advance each player’s sundial and adjust turn order according to prestige.
3-3.If it is the 3rd or 6th round, a Feeding Phase occurs.
Feeding Phase:
Each villager must be fed 1 corn.
Unfed villagers die.
Surviving villagers score points for the player.
Game End
The game lasts 6 rounds.
The player with the highest score wins.
