📖 About This Game

The 1942 Fall Blau offensive to seize the Caucasus oilfields. Game assumes that the Germans did not shift forces from Army Group A to Stalingrad so the Axis has an enhanced force. But they must make it to Baku on the Caspuan to win a decisive victory. Game Scale: Map: Rostov to Astrakhan, Batum to Baku One hex = 27 kilometers Turns = two weeks (summer, fall), one month (winter) Axis units = divisions; Soviet units = mostly corps with naval infantry and Guards divisions Air units = Luftwaffe geschwader, Soviet air armies Scenarios: What if Army Group A had full support (instead of elements being switched to the Stalingrad battle): Axis gains several mech class units, Italian Alpine corps. Historical Operation Edelweiss: random events cause Axis units to be switched to Stalingrad front. Game System Double impulse, with second impulse requiring supply expenditure. Assault and Mobile CRTs. Demolition and repair of oilfields. Panzer divisions can break down into kampfgruppe Special units: commandos, naval infantry, optional German airborne. Stalingrad campaign off-map determined by random events with possibility of a Red Army winter offensive.
