February 1944, German and Vichy forces realize that the Resistance is recruiting on a large scale and preparing for a widespread uprising. The Savoie maquis decide to put the Montagnard plan into action as the Allied landings approach. This plan involves direct confrontation with the occupying forces and tying down as many enemy troops as possible by applying the “silo maquis” concept.
