📖 About This Game
It all began when you cleared that first row. You’ve been chasing the dopamine rush of a well-placed polyomino ever since. Tetrominoes led to pentominoes, and soon even they weren’t enough. Now obsession has led you to buy an expensive laser cutter to create hexominoes for your latest game design. Unfortunately the bundled “MPD” software is finicky, and after several failed attempts, you’re left with a single busted-up sheet of acrylic. If you can cut 20 unique hexominoes and a first player token, it might all be worth it.
Lasercut is a solo game in which the player attempts to cut 20 unique 6-cell polyominoes (hexominoes) and a first player token for their latest game design.
Each round, the player tries to design a hexomino by rolling and connecting dice on the Mobile Polyomino Designer (MPD). When a new hexomino is designed, it is cut (drawn) on the acrylic, allowing the player to collect dopamine and powerful bonuses. Hexominoes are recorded on the Hexomino Guide as a reminder that they can not be cut again.
The player repeats these steps until they fill the acrylic sheet with unique hexominoes (win) or fail to cut a unique hexomino on the acrylic (lose).
