📖 About This Game
An exquisite, witty, Regency era board game of sabotage, scandal, opportunity & intrigue for Jane Austen & Bridgerton fans alike!
Impropriety is a set-collection, story-based game in which players take on the roles within a family of young ladies in English society in the early 19th century to win the affections and eventual proposal of the exceedingly wealthy Lord Duffling. Players seek to acquire the most attractive ensemble for the Grand Ball, all the while navigating through cutting sabotage, ruinous scandal, delicious opportunities, delightful intrigue, and the occasional tragedy. With over 84 different scenario vignettes with multiple choice-based outcomes, the story is varied each time with infinite replayability!
The Lancaster sisters must travel through the “ton” to attain the most exquisite gown, luxurious accessory, stately transportation, and brotherly escort. They then ascend the stairs to the ball, where they will socialize, dance, and attempt to woo the rich eligible bachelor, who leaves much to be desired other than his deep pocketbook. The marriage game is a dangerous sport, as many a scenario will reveal obstacles that the players must attempt to navigate with social grace… but achieving your goals may require creative manoeuvring outside of society’s definition of what is ladylike. Shall the players attempt to maintain their dear Mama’s ideal of superior morality, or wade into the waters of impropriety to gain the advantage?
Utilize charm, cunning, boldness and wit to fill your dance cards and marry into your rightful place at the peak of Society.
Inspired by the literature of Jane Austen, the drama of Bridgerton, the zany humour of Austenland, the scandal of Lost in Austen, and paying homage to the thousands of women who found themselves in similar social-climbing circumstances in the Regency era, this game (both competitive and solo modes) features an original cast of over 50 characters, 84 unique vignettes of story, stunning historical Regency era illustrations and fashion plates, and countless moments of sheer hilarity that will not soon be forgotten.
Impropriety is simple to learn, light in game play, stunning to table, and everlasting in impression. So, who shall the next Lady Duffling be?
