📖 About This Game

The players must fly from the starting point to the destination airport. Each player chooses their own route. They have several options and must try to find the most convenient route. The first player to arrive at the destination is the winner. Players can also agree not to land at the destination airport, but to simply fly there and then return to the starting airport. The game is played with one die. Each player may roll the dice three times in a row. After each roll, a player must draw, or the dice are forfeited. Therefore, adding up the dice from the three rolls and then drawing is not permitted. At the start of the game, each player must first roll a 6 before landing their glider on the airfield. As soon as it is their turn to roll again, they can take off. The gliders can fly in any direction. They move from square to square according to the number of dice rolled. The gliders must fly from updraft area to updraft area. Each player must always cover the distance from one updraft area to another with three throws. If more points are scored on the third or sometimes even the second throw than necessary to reach the desired updraft area, the extra points generally remain unused. Anyone flying into a downwind zone will have 2 points deducted from their roll. If a player fails to reach a thermal area with three throws and their glider is then between the thermal areas, it is considered to have sunk. The glider must then be returned to the starting airfield and begin its flight again. The game was published between 1933 und 1942. —user summary
