📖 About This Game
This game is a solitaire simulation in which the player commands a Japanese Army infantry Regiment (the fictional 236th Infantry Regiment) fighting through the China front.
The player takes the role of the regimental commander (RentaichÅ), issuing orders to subordinate battalion commanders or directly leading regimental companies, aiming to accomplish missions.
However, unlike typical wargames, your subordinates and units won’t always obey with a simple “yes, sir.”
Ordering forced marches, attacks, or charges will increase the dissatisfaction of battalion commanders, who may sometimes ignore your commands.
On the other hand, forcing orders too much causes the regimental commander’s authority to decline, which also negatively impacts the operation.
Besides completing missions, you must carefully manage smooth organizational relations—a “realistic” simulation.
Defeat conditions are fixed (the regimental commander’s authority drops to zero and he is replaced), but there are no conventional “victory conditions.”
There are 10 missions in total, and based on your conduct during gameplay, a narrative system determines the commander’s fate in the late war and postwar period.
The map is created using cards, so the setup changes each game.
Chinese army actions are also resolved by cards, allowing for a quick and dynamic gameplay experience.
