From the publisher: GrowthBreaker. It’s here. The world’s second tabletop novel. This is a card game for anyone to play alone. It contains whimsical items, enjoyable places, and helpful friends. Your heroes will be challenged in their quest to reach the goals of each season, which are broken up into several serialized decks known as episodes. The game is also a story. The major plot of GrowthBreaker is always the same, but what you do during the game, and if your survive, is up to you. It can be played an endless amount of times, without ever experiencing the same game twice. The object of the game is for the player to move a token around the PLACE PILE, acquiring cards out of the DECK as you travel. The more cards you acquire, the stronger your heroes will grow, allowing more powerful cards to be played. But be warned, the more powerful your heroes become, the more powerful the enemies that will find them. A game of GrowthBreaker ends when Starting HERO card(s) of the episode is/are Cycled.
