📖 About This Game
Drôles de Bibittes is a strategy and tactics game with a light element of bluffing for 1 to 4 players (8 players with 2 boxes). It plays quickly, has high replayability, and features a distinctive cartoon atmosphere. Each player takes on the role of the leader of a small alien tribe — the red Bibittes or the green Bibittes — who compete to rule the universe and, incidentally, your living room table.
Players aim to gain the upper hand through good planning and tactical use of their pieces.
The game experience is unique because the game changes depending on the number of players.
Playing solo with the game board, it's a puzzle game.
Playing with two players on the table, it's a real game of strategy and tactics: preparing your piles of token for the entire game forces the player to take a side. Will I be defensive? Aggressive? Balanced? When will I be able to play my trap? As this phase is hidden, there is a high risk of having stacks with different numbers of token, creating an imbalance that you will have to manage during the tactical phases.
In the two-player game with the game board, the game is much more aggressive and you will have to change the way you build your piles of token at the start to counter your opponent.
Finally, playing in teams is the most fun, strategic, and festive: with 4 or more players (up to 8 players with 2 boxes), the atmosphere is very exciting and lively because the game is aggressive and tense. Players on the same team must communicate about their initial strategy and then coordinate their tactics without their opponents figuring them out... especially when it comes to the trap token! which is the key token in this game. So there's a lot of banter, laughter, and thrills!
Objective :
As the Supreme Leader of the Bibittes, your goal is to lead your Bibittes to victory. Control the board by placing your Bibittes strategically over 3 rounds: create a colony, flip as many opposing Bibittes as possible, or maintain the largest visible presence on the board.
Game Flow :
Each game is played in two phases.
Strategy: Each player prepares three piles of Bibittes behind a screen. Each pile must contain between 4 and 7 Bibittes.
Tactics: Players take turns placing their pieces according to placement and confrontation rules.
Main Placement Rules :
A piece may be placed next to an opposing Bibitte of equal or lower strength, or next to an allied Bibitte.
A piece may cover an opposing Bibitte of lower strength.
Bibittes that are completely surrounded are captured and change color.
The trap piece can eliminate an opposing Bibitte when triggered.
End of Round and Special Conditions :
When a player has placed all the Bibittes in their pile for the round, the other player finishes their turn.
If a player can no longer place any Bibittes legally, their remaining Bibittes for that round are eliminated.
Victory Conditions :
Immediate victory: Create a closed 3×3 colony.
Otherwise: The player with the most captures wins.
In the event of a tie, the number of visible Bibittes determines the winner, followed by controlled territory.
Game Modes :
Classic: Standard two-player match on a table.
Solo: Play against the red Bibittes using a dedicated board. This is a puzzle game.
Duo on board: Same rules with a fixed initial placement.
Team: Two teams compete, with coordination allowed.
“Tooth Hunt” variant:
Played over three consecutive games. Victories grant tooth tokens. The player or team with the most teeth at the end wins.
