📖 About This Game

Plastic caps tabletop soccer game played in a fabric/rubber table mat with plastic/fabric goals and other plastic components (ball, card box, goalkeeper items, phone stand, etc.), stickers (teams, yellow/red cards and injuries), a set 48+ cards and a smartphone app to keep track of the scores and time. The app features camera recording, QR scanning (cards), etc. The game is played in a time limit of 40 mins (2 halves), the 1st player and fields are sorted at the beginning of the game using the coin toss feature in the app. A card sorting is performed, and 7 cards are distributed between both players, remaining cards are left on a side. Each card has a different feature with different playing conditions indicated in each card, as long as they are played they add different playing advantages such as better plays, goalie power-ups, cheats, blocks, mandatory card discards, trades, additional caps movement, etc. The 1st player starts by positioning his/her caps along the mat and carefully flicking the ball-holding-cap against a small plastic barrier with a square hole between the ball and the cap, a pass is validated as long as the ball remains close to the receiving cap, successfully connected passes make the attacking player get closer to the other player's goal (whereas pass misses give a chance to the defending player to obtain the ball and counter-attack), goals are only validated when the attacking player calls a "ball-kick", time when the defending goalie has the chance to block the ball, the rest of the rules are similar to football/soccer (corner kicks, throw ins, free kicks, yellow/red cards, etc.) with intercalated caps repositioning for attacking and defending, the player who scores more goals at the end of the match wins. The fabric/rubber mat allows the players to make three types of ball-kicks, the usual flicking with the plastic barrier to make straight kicks, the flying ball by pressing the ball against the mat with the cap, and the curve ball by using a small rubbery pad. Goals using the last two features make goals look like real football/soccer.
