📖 About This Game
1812! War on the Atlantic Seaboard is a card-driven strategic wargame that simulates the naval and land actions fought on and around the Eastern Coast of North America and the Gulf of Mexico during The War of 1812. This is a stand alone sequel to 1812! War on the Great Lakes Frontier.
This is a two-player game with either player commanding the naval and land forces of the United States of America or the British Empire. It can be played with four players when combined with the original game into an entire war campaign.
Players will alternate playing Strategy cards, spending Operation Points and causing historical events to occur. Operation Points are the currency used to move and fight battles with military units.
The scale of fighting units is regimental and single ship with some naval units grouped or removed to create solid gameplay. Each leader, regiment and naval vessel has been researched to determine its relative strength and weaknesses based on battle performance, unit size, and type. With limited land armies and naval battles mostly confined to single ship frigate and privateer actions the forces are manageable although challenging to coordinate compared to the original game.
Also contains expansion content for the original Great Lakes Frontier game including new regiments, errata updates and the counters, cards and order of battle for a new scenario.
