📖 About This Game

1800 is a Japanese doujin (Fan-made) game that was only available at Japanese game shows, such as the Tokyo Game Market. It was made on demand, and you had to order one in advance and pick it up at the show. These were not available to the general public, and in most cases, the show was the only place where the game could be obtained. 1800 is a game of exploration and conquest in the Industrial Age. The players become monarchs and spread their influence around the world, building colonies, and waging wars of conquest in order to become the dominant power. Here is a description from the designer's web page: This card game is set in the colonial era from the 16th to the 18th century, and players take on the role of becoming the great powers of the time. This is a game where you compete to acquire private land cards. If you can't get a colony card, collect force cards and take a neighboring country's colony. Build up a large colonial empire by the end of the game by using diplomacy cards, avoiding wars, and leasing colonies. Recently an expansion, that added Denmark and Sweden, was added to the game. The game requires assembly. —user summary
